Sun. Oct. 5th - Sunday Reflections

What an amazing day at BridgeWay today! Party in the park was simply amazing...no other way to put it. The thing that struck me the most about this Sunday was the many many volunteers who worked to pull this event off. It was great seeing some newer faces serving! Huge thanks to Matt Robinson who spent lots of time and effort to involve new volunteers.
As far as Treasure Quest goes, I couldn't have been more excited about our weather being wonderful today...having about 80 kids in one service (if we had to cancel "party in the park" made me a little nervous. So I was very thankful we had to have had the MOST perfect weather possible. It was also fun putting together the treasure chest boxes each child recieved. Thanks to our volunteer team for putting those together as well as those who made sure each child got their Treasure Chest treat box.
Our students also had a blast hanging out together, its so great to have a group of students that honestly really enjoy hanging out with each other. Flag football was a blast, will definatly have to do it again! Thanks to Sam Dever and Steve Smith who stepped up at the last minute to captain the teams for Chris Borth and Ryan Kohler who "had" to deffend their corn hole championship. Seriously can't let those two be on the same team again next year. SWITCH student ministry is the place to be Thurs. nights at the BridgeWay Ministry Center 7-8:30.
Finally being there to cheer on the 37 people being baptized by Dale Schaeffer as we worshiped together was an experience I never want to forget...there were several times I was moved to tears. It's simply amazing what God is doing in the families at BridgeWay. I also loved watching Steve's excitement on stage...a few times I thought he was going to jump out of his skin with pure uncontainable joy, it was so contagious it was cracking me up.
I hope to get pictures and videos up soon.

Fri. Oct. 5th - Finally Got a Blog Going Again

Well it's official, I have a blog going again. I hope to mostly blog about my experiences as Pastor of Family Life at BridgeWay as well as what I am learning through personal devotional time, my family, friends, and other people.

You may ask, why "Faith Like a Child"
Really what God has done for me over the past year is give me back a new passion for Jesus Christ. I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was in second grade, yet through circumstance and my own immaturity I let myself become a cynical and somewhat negative person. I now understand that if I am going to make any difference in this world for Jesus Christ and His Kingdom that I have to give God all my junk and get back to a child like fully trusting faith.

Also going with "Faith Like a Child" for the title because I have the pleasure and joy of working with children, teenagers, and college aged students who are constantly teaching me.

Finally going with "Faith Like a Child" for the title because of my wonderful three children who are daily teaching me about God's love.
